You can find this awesome waffle bar hiding in a courtyard behind the shop Le BHV Marais L’Homme. It’s 100% gluten free, with a choice of both sweet and savoury waffles.

My boyfriend and I were both impressed with this place. Gluten free waffles are such a rare opportunity and these didn’t disappoint. The choices of toppings are quite interesting too, as you can tell from the menu below. Croque Monsieur (ham and creamy emmental), Thai chicken (chicken, beansprouts, carrots and spices), Fish (cod, olive oil, creamed potatoes, parmesan and lime), Saisoniere (a mixture of raw and cooked vegetables), praline chocolate, vanilla cream, lemon cream and apple & cinnamon.

There are also a few other options on the menu: a ham and creamy emmental pasta salad, a quinoa salad (with tomato, fennel and carrot), a chocolate mousse and a rice pudding with almonds.

It was a tough choice as everything looked so good, but I went for the savoury Croque Monsieur waffle, made with ham, Emmental and white sauce.

It was amazing!! It was delicious with a perfectly soft, tender texture and they didn’t hold back on the toppings, as you can see on the picture! I could barely tell it’s gluten free; a fact also supported by my non Coeliac boyfriend. I only wish we’d had more time to go back before the end of our holiday! This will be on my to-do list for sure next time I’m in paris!

We enjoyed our waffles along with fresh healthy juices which were yummy, but a bit expensive if I’m honest (nearly €5). We didn’t look at the price when ordering the drinks and it was quite a surprise when the bill came! At €6,80 for a savoury waffle or €5 for a sweet one, I wish I’d taken two waffles instead. lol

But regardless, we thoroughly enjoyed the waffles and highly recommend this place. Based on its location, it’s a perfect bite to grab while shopping, but it’s certainly worth travelling to whether you plan to shop or not.

Note that it can be a little tricky to find. Using google map, the address took us to another restaurant and we were a bit confused (wondering if the place had shut down), but it’s actually outdoors, in a courtyard, either accessed a bit further up the road from where the address takes you to or from within the shop Le BHV Marais L’Homme.

And while you’re at it, go to the main Le Marais shop next door; there’s a really beautiful view of the city on the top floor that’s worth seeing. 🙂
