(Update 29.07.2017: Beyond Bread is now has a stall in Selfridges Food Hall!)

If you’re gluten free and live in London, work around the area or are visiting, this place is a must! Us Londoners are being spoiled with more and more gluten free cafes and restaurants opening up here and there, but Beyond Bread has made its way into my top favourites. I’ve been going there ever since they opened and while I did enjoy it from the start, I think they have come a long way and become even better with time.

They have a great selection of sandwiches, pastries, cookies, cakes, cupcakes, salads, quiche, soup, freshly baked bread (including baguettes, sourdough, ciabatta and more!), etc. You can have a look on their website for the full menu and more info.

Here’s a glimpse of the food:

Ham and cheese toastie with dijon mustard and a soft, delicious seeded bread. I’ve tried all the different types of sandwiches they serve and the toasties are my favourites so far.

Sicilian Vendetta (roasted peppers, free range chicken breast & nut-free, dairy-free pesto sauce on baguette).

Red velvet cupcake a.k.a. the best cupcake ever! My boyfriend and I were both blown away by these. The taste, the texture, the presentation and in particular the fantastic marshmallow (I think?) icing are just perfect. Having tried many desserts there so far, I would definitely recommend these!

New-York style cheesecake

Rose & vanilla cupcake. I’m not sure if they still serve these as I didn’t see them on my last visit, but just like the red velvet cupcakes, they’re absolutely delicious. The rose flavoured icing is interesting and unusual.

Halloumi & red pepper ciabatta

Lemon drizzle cake

Strawberry & Custard Danish. Another one of my favourites from there. 🙂

Pulled pork in a bun

Gingerbread men
